The first character I fell in love with: Giles. I'd never have made it through the first season without him.
The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Anya, whom I found horribly irritating until sometime mid-S4. I love her through all seasons now, though.
The character everyone else loves that I don't: Er. Xander? I don't love Xander, and I know he's lots of people's favorite.
The character I love that everyone else hates: Well. I know there's oodles of Dawn-love in my corner of the Internet, but I'm going to go ahead and say her because I do love her so much and apparently lots of other people, uh, don't. Second choice: Maggie Walsh, who is sorely underappreciated.
The character I used to love but don't any longer: Willow. I loved Willow right up through the end of S3. So cute! And nerdy! But a switch flipped sometime in the summer after graduation, and she's never been the same.
The character I would shag anytime: Uh. Um. Giles? This is not my eye-candy fandom, y'all.
The character I'd want to be like: Nor is this my role-model fandom. Buffy, I suppose. Buffy's a hero, yo.
The character I'd slap: The Scoobies circa Dead Man's Party.

The character everyone else loves that I don't: John Winchester. He's a fascinating character, but he is not much of a person, my opinion.
The character I love that everyone else hates: I gather Anna has some haters? I quite like Anna.
The character I used to love but don't any longer: I'm tired of Bobby. It's nothing personal; mostly I resent him for sticking around after we've killed off so many other more interesting and complex characters.
The character I would shag anytime: Dean. Or Sam. Either. No matter what Sam's hair is doing that day.
The character I'd want to be like: I want to be as awesome as Ellen, please, but without the booze.
The character I'd slap: Dean. We all know how I love him, but he needs a good slap at least a couple of times a week.

The first character I fell in love with: Probably Wesley, I think. It took a few eps after he showed up, but then I found that I quite liked Wesley.
The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Darla. I hated her on BtVS. Hated. But she got such interesting a development on Ats.
The character everyone else loves that I don't: Lilah. Nothing against her, I just never connected the way a lot of folks seem to.
The character I love that everyone else hates: I'm fonder of Kate Lockley than most people, I think.
The character I used to love but don't any longer: Cordelia. I do still love her in the first couple of seasons, but then we hit S3 and the show never recovers.
The character I would shag anytime: Well, Lindsey has very pretty eyes...
The character I'd want to be like: Cordelia has some great moments, but no one, really.

My least favorite character: of the regular crew, Book. Just once I'd like to see Whedon write a character of faith that actually, you know, had any.
My deep dark fandom secret: Not dark at all, but the BDM was my first exposure to Whedon (yes, I saw it before I saw the series), and also was my first actual date with my college boyfriend. He had advance screening tickets for the Tuesday before the opening, and we drove an hour up the cities and watched it with what was clearly a whole audience of Browncoats.

I love Bobby, but I think that he's become a device that the boys rely on too often. In S2/3, he wasn't used as much. I honestly don't think they'll kill him until the show ends, though.

That is an excellent secret! Do you still watch Bones? And I know you dislike Angel, so did you ever get disenchanted with DB himself on BtVS?
Actually no. I love him SO MUCH, but I've never found him particularly attractive. There's the smoking and the blood-drinking and the ridiculous hair, and, yeah. With respect to Spike, I want to be Dawn; I want the silliness and devotion and snark.
I watched Bones through the first season back when that was the only season on Hulu, and I've never gotten back to it. I don't know how I'd feel about him now, but I liked Booth well enough that I suspect I'd warm up to again if I tried rewatching.

I don't understand! I'm into S6 now and I can't tell that it's changed at all, and yet somehow it still looks worse than it did last season!

The first character I fell in love with: Topher. First ep, he had me at his first snarky line. And then later he got all complexified, which made things all the better.
The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Alpha. I'm rarely a fan of psychopaths, so his turn in S1 didn't do anything for me. But then in Epitaph 2 he gets neat scenes, a throwaway line about being "a lapsed psychotic," and an entire behind-the-scenes redemption arc, and I was all his. I wouldn't mind reading some fic of how all that came about.
The character everyone else loves that I don't: Priya, I guess. I don't mind her, and Belonging is excellent, but I didn't care about any of her development after that, and the Priya/Tony ship bored me once it happened.
The character I love that everyone else hates: Some folks never warmed up to Topher, I hear.
The character I used to love but don't any longer: Boyd. NEED I SAY WHY.
The character I would shag anytime: Tony, I guess.
The character I'd want to be like: Adelle Dewitt, because she rules the universe.
The character I'd slap: Er. Um. Well, a slap is hardly sufficient for Nolan. Really, this isn't a slapworthy show.
My five favorite characters: Topher, Adelle, Whiskey, Bennett, Dominic.
My least favorite character: Echo. The writing wasn't great, and what there was, Eliza Dushku couldn't handle.
My deep dark fandom secret: I don't think I think about this fandom enough to have dark secrets.
