Drabble: Fifth Sense

And another drabble. Incidentally, I'm still accepting prompts, no strings attached.

Fifth Sense
For angearia: Oz/Willow

He could smell it on her: the magic. The wolf probably read the whole scent like a fragrant guitar riff, but he couldn’t remember that. Human, all he smelled was the Willow-smell, apples and incense and organic fibers. But in the seconds-long dusk between, he caught the tang of other things, rich and deep, and it was no wonder to him how she could love them. He could distrust that tang, but he couldn’t hate it.

What he hated was how it seeped into the Willow-smell until, in the last wolfish moment before dark, he couldn’t find her at all.

Oh I love it. The way he associates her with her scent. This is perfect. :)

Yay, I'm glad you liked it. :) It's not very shippy, really, but I was brainstorming, trying to think of a scenario between just the two of them, and this is what came.

Plus, I'm sort of obsessed with the sense of smell. That might have had a bit to do with the subject matter, too. *g*

Totally. I always loved that scene in Lover's Walk where he's looking for her and finds her by her scent and could tell she was afraid.

Ooh, that's a little eerie. Interesting thought, that he could smell the magic. Nicely done.

A little eerie was definitely what I was going for. Glad you enjoyed. :)

Wow, this one packs a real punch for so few words. It's really rich and has more depth than you'd imagine.

I really, really like this.

Yay, I'm glad you enjoyed! It really was terribly unfortunate timing for Willow that Oz left when he did - darned RL movie stardom! *g* Judging from his cautionary statements at the beginning of S4, I like to think that he have kept her out of some of her magic troubles, if only he'd stuck around.

Well, we don't know very much about Oz; it seemed prudent to make use of what little we did know. I'm so glad to felt right.
