I grew up on compilations of Disney shorts from the 30s/40s/50s, and tonight I've been revisiting them. (Thank you, YouTube.) I've realized again tonight just how much I loved the assembly-line-style work scenes that showed up in a lot of those shorts. The ants putting away food in The Grasshopper and the Ants or The Night Before Christmas or Funny Little Bunnies or bits of The Cookie Carnival. There's something that I have always found so viscerally satisfying about those scenes. (Watch with care; I tried not to link any of the really overtly racist ones, but some of them I haven't watched in a really long time.)

Next up: finding out if Gallavants (not Disney) is as weird as I remember. Weirder, probably. The 80s, man.
