Spike disapproves

I'm halfway through the next Steerswoman book, but not finished yet, so for now we have only this.

Destination Wedding (2018). A "romantic comedy-drama" starring Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder, playing two completely awful people who are guests to the same wedding. "Oh look," I said, "what an appealing cast." Friends, this was so bad. It was so, so bad. I think it cost about $10 to make, none of which went to the writer, the director, or the camera crew. I'm very fond of both of these actors, but this film did not play to either of their respectively narrow, possibly incompatible skill sets. The movie is almost entirely composed of them snarking with or sniping at each other in front of a static camera, and this is unfortunate because the script is rough to begin with and worse when attempted by these two. Also, content warning for some extremely transphobic remarks (have I mentioned what awful people they are?). In conclusion: AVOID, ABORT.
