Anya final stand, S7

Thursday recs: hockey comfort re-reads

I don't have a lot of new stuff on tap, and also I feel like we're all in dire need of some comfort fic, so here are some of my comfort rereads. The rule is I have to have read the fic (or maybe just part of the fic, if it was posted in installments) at least three times, and most of them I've read a lot more than that.

Next week: maybe some old school SPN RPF.

Rust/Kuhnhackl, 6k. This is a "characters discover fanfic about themselves" fic, which isn't usually my thing, but I really love the way this discovery unearths Kuhni's longing for connection, and the romance is very sweet.

Sid/Geno, 4k. This is fluff about Christmas cookies, and yet also there is relationship negotiation and angst and a few tears? This is my kind of fluff, people. And yet it's so warm and fuzzy by the end. :)))

You and Me by [archiveofourown.org profile] Las
Marchand/Seguin, 3k. Segs and Marchy are really bad at this open relationship thing. Like, really bad. I've seriously read the final scene at least ten times; I left it open in a tab and kept going back.

it's not a new wave, it's just you and me by [archiveofourown.org profile] sphesphe
Marchand/Bergeron, a/b/o, 16k. Brad Marchand prides himself on not being a typical omega. He is, in fact, proud of being kind of a shitty omega, and a dick on the ice. Brad is such a trainwreck! And he wants so badly to have perfect alpha Patrice Bergeron while knowing he can never have him! (Spoiler: several parts of that sentence are... not quite accurate.) GOOD FEELINGS.

A Save Situation by [archiveofourown.org profile] oflights
Bennett/Bortuzzo, 8k. As Bortuzzo is leaving for St. Louis, he kisses Beau, which complicates everything. A neat getting-together fic with a lot of awkward feelings, which are my favorite, and it neatly undercuts some of its own melodrama in a way I found very pleasing.

A Little Bit Low Key by [archiveofourown.org profile] agentpb
Eichel/McDavid, 7.5k. Rivals-turned-fake-boyfriends, and what a great use of the trope it is. I love how they become friends, most of all, and how that leads to other things.
