Mad Men \o/

I spent a large portion of today diving back into Mad Men. I got stuck somewhere early in S2, but now I am back on track. I just finished episode 2.09, I think. I have no particular thoughts, but I was so excited to be watching again that I needed to share with you all.

So far:
* Freddie Rumsen got fired (pity, he was one of the nicer guys)
* Peggy now has Freddie's old accounts
* Salvatore Romano has lit a torch for Ken Cosgrove (which, why) and still shown himself to be the best husband of any of them
* Betty's been alerted to Don's affair with Bobbie Barrett, and he no longer lives at home
* Pete and Trudy have failed to get pregnant. Trudy wants to adopt. Pete's mom threatens to write him out of the will if he adopts.
* Roger has announced he's going to leave his wife and marry his secretary
* Joan has gotten engaged

Betty and Pete continue to be my favorites in terms of complexity and portrayal. Don continues to be my least favorite. (Actually, I wouldn't mind his screen time nearly so much if there just weren't so much of it. At least we've had no flashbacks recently. And I liked that he was so supportive while Peggy was in the hospital.)

Ah, this all seems so long ago! Ha ha. This was me last year. I mainlined all the seasons over a few weeks, I think.

I adore Don and hate Pete, though, so there you go. :-)

Well, I'm not saying I like Pete as a person. Pete is a terrible human being. But I find his troubles as a consistent failure and cautionary tale much, much more interesting than Don's troubles as a success story.

I did find Pete more interesting in the earlier seasons. But I find Don quite fascinating as well. :-)
