Another AO3 stats meme, this time snagged from dhampyresa

Answer the following 10 questions based only on the stories you've posted to AO3

1) Which fandoms have you written in?

Buffy the Vampire Slayer (66)
Supernatural (28)
Supernatural RPF (17)
Angel: the Series (9)
Dollhouse (4)
Firefly (3)
Downton Abbey (3)
Saga (Comics) (3)
Matilda - Roald Dahl (2)
Vampire Diaries (TV) (1)
Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Comics) (1)
Railsea - China Mieville (1)
The Graveyard Book - Neil Gaiman (1)
Harry Potter - J. K. Rowling (1)
FF (Comics) (1)
Captain America (Comics) (1)
The Matrix (Movies) (1)
seaQuest (1)
Discworld - Terry Pratchett (1)
Beauty and the Beast (1991) (1)
Raines (TV) (1)
Black Widow (Comics) (1)
Greek and Roman Mythology (1)

You sure can tell the primary fandoms from the giftfic/Yuletide fandoms, can't you?

2) Your best story title and why
Very best? I can't. I frequently end up with-not great titles, but out of 132 works (!), I have a fair few that I'm pleased with.

The Slayer's Vampire Tryst - Because the fic makes fun of shag-or-die fics, and the title sounds like a schlocky romance novel

Or Settle on the Far Side of the Sea - This is actually a TERRIBLE PUN, of a psalm no less, but unfortunately accessible only to readers of the New International Version of the Bible. The whole line reads, If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea

I Thought You'd Be Taller - Thematically appropriate, since the core of the story is about an omega mistaking an alpha for a not-alpha

i would rather start a family than finish one - It's a quote from an Archie and Mehitabel poem, and it's just remarkably in keeping with the theme of the fic. Hands-down my most successful use of the "google quotations of random words" method of titling.

In a House by the Sea, With Mermaids - It's just pretty! And extremely accurate!

Polysemy - literally means 'having many meanings/interpretations,' which works marvelously well for the subject matter. Also I'm tickled because I got the word from my Biblical hermeneutics reading.

At Least Ian Malcolm Had a Sat Phone - gratuitous Jurassic Park reference! Except I'm pretty sure the sat phones weren't even until the second movie, so it's a gratuitous Jurassic Park sequel reference.

Tea Parties - Because it's Drusilla and her dolly. It could never have had any other title than this.

3) Your worst story title and why
I have a lot of titles that are just dull, especially for some of the drabbles. That said, here are a few that are particularly iffy.

The Only Cure for Grief - It's just so painfully on the nose, especially when quoted in full - "The only cure for grief is action."

It Perches in the Soul / Who Favor Fire - I didn't notice this until TODAY, but within a week and a half I managed to titles stories using quite well-worn lines from Emily Dickinson and Robert Frost. Honestly, Snick.

4) The most popular pairing fandom you've written for (by the standard of how many stories exist for that pairing written by everyone on AO3)
Spike/Buffy! There are ~2100 works on AO3, which is not many at all given the size of Spuffy fandom, but of course it's an old fandom and most of its extant works are on dedicated Spuffy archives and on LJ.

5) The rarest pairing fandom you've written for (by the standard of how many stories exist for that pairing written by everyone on AO3)
HAH. Substantive stories of which mine is the ONLY fic for that pairing include Alana/Marko (Saga), Drusilla/Buffybot, and Ellen Harvelle/Rufus Turner. I've also written drabbles for unique pairings Darla/Giles (how is this unique? surely there exist more Darla/Giles in fandom than one measly double drabble?), Larry Blaisdell/Jonathan Levinson, and Topher Brink/Dawn Summers.

To my shock, my Drusilla/Riley drabble is not the unique fic for that pairing. Nor, to my delight, is my Sam/Tamara piece.

6) The most popular OT3/moresome you've written for (by the standard of how many stories exist for that pairing written by everyone on AO3)
Er. I've only written the one Jared/Jensen/Genevieve, and that is one of eight works of that pairing on AO3, so I guess it wins.

7) The rarest OT3/moresome you've written for (by the standard of how many stories exist for that pairing written by everyone on AO3)
My first Downton Abbey fic is Mary/Matthew/Lavinia in spirit, and there's one fic on AO3 actually tagged with that threesome tag, so.

8) First story and latest story you posted to AO3
I have no idea which story I posted first, since I backdated them as I went along. Latest is All Clean, the fairy tale-flavored enema kink fic for Genteensybang.

9) Your top ten pairings on AO3
Er, how about we stick to pairings I have at least two fics for.

Spike/Buffy Summers (14)
Genevieve Cortese/Jared Padalecki (8)
Jo Harvelle/Sam Winchester (4)
Castiel/Meg Masters (3)
Jensen Ackles/Danneel Harris (3)
Willow Rosenberg/Spike (2)
Faith Lehane/Rupert Giles (2)
Misha Collins/Genevieve Cortese (2)

That includes background pairings, though.

10) How many stories have you written with no pairings/OT3/moresomes listed? What's the breakdown on your stories' ratings?
61 stories have no pairings of any kind.

General Audiences (61)
Teen And Up Audiences (49)
Mature (14)
Explicit (8)

Titles are SUCH a battle. Like 20% of the time I hit on just the perfect title that I'm so proud of, but 60% of the time they're only okay, and the remaining 20% I HATE. Titles, man.

I lovelovelove that you've written several fics that are the only fic for a giving pairing!

Also, somebody was talking about hockey on slacktivist the other day and this anecdote made me think of you:

One of the reasons I love hockey – one year they had to delay the All Star banquet because one of their speakers, the captain of the Maple Leafs, was late. They were playing Ottawa that year, and while walking to the event, he came across a game of pond hockey. The kids who were playing recognized him and excitedly begged him to give them some playing tips. He had to play in loafers, but he joined in. Ended up playing with them for almost an hour and totally ruined his fine clothes from being suitable for a public appearance, so his agent had to run back to the hotel and get a new suit for him to change into.

Oh man, I hear you on titles. This WIP is presently titled "Ain't No Mountain," which is really not what I want but the best I could think of this afternoon. Maybe by the time things go live I'll come up with something better. :\

I am super proud of every one of the fandom/pairing/character tags I've added to AO3. :D

That hockey anecdote completely delights me. That is adorable.
