Bennett leaves practice with apparent knee injury after being more out than in last season with a wrist injury. This boy is so injury prone. Basically the only thing anyone has said about him in the last three months is, "He can really shine this season, if he doesn't get broken." Well.

Meanwhile, Crosby and Kunitz have yet to play a game, although they've attended the last two team practices. There is still hope Dupuis will play in the preseason, but he hasn't done it yet, either. And Malkin hasn't skated since Sept 8 due to an undisclosed injury, but Coach Johnston says there has been no need for further testing or evaluation??

EDIT: Oh, and Bortuzzo's injured, too.

Beau seriously needs to keep it together. All of my second line hopes ride with him and Sutter (Hornqvist can come too).

Their pre-season lineups have been pretty sad, but also I feel like they've played really well, considering how many people they're missing. The first two games, they had a ton of shots on goal. So. If the first line can prove that it exists sometime in the near future, that'd be great.

I don't think he and Sutter are going to be second line unless this thing with Geno turns out to be long term. Geno's inked in as second C as long as he's healthy. But everyone's saying the Downie-Sutter-Bennett line has looked really good! (I finally get to watch a preseason game tomorrow. Will you be watching? We could chat while we watched...)

Obviously since it's the preseason, I shouldn't be wringing my hands, but that quote right there was them ALL LAST SEASON. :P

So Sutter'd be third line center? Well, that just makes him more of an underrated smudge-eyed workhorse for me to heart-eyes at.

And, yes, aren't they just about the MOST injury-prone team in the entire league? What is going ON. And why all the secrecy about the injuries? I guess it's just that they don't want their stars to be targets more than they already are. (Sweep the leg, Johnny!) But looking at the lineups of most of the other teams, everyone's out there and playing already, including the heavy-hitters. :\

Damn, we've got a dinner party at 6 (ET) on Saturday, and the games at 4, right? I can probably catch some of it, though I'll have to bale before the end.

Yeah, Sutter's been playing third line, and that's pretty much where everyone expects him, I think. Goc is the fourth-line center.

Yeah, the vagueness is to prevent people getting targeted. It's so weird, though, to hear "upper body injury" or whatever all season and then after it's over we hear, oh, separated shoulder, concussion, whatever.

Actually the preseason has been unkind to a lot of teams. Jordan Staal for the Canes and (I think?) Stepan for the Rangers both have broken legs and will be out for months. Giroux recently left mid-practice with something lower-body. Datsyuk did something to his knee and will be out for a month, they're saying. It's pretty bad.

IDK how other teams' non-stars are doing, though.

Oh man, I did hear about Staal, not Stepan, though.

How would we chat, if it were to happen? Any particular medium you like?

Heh, if you want to rubberneck all the injuries, someone made a list. :P

Gchat is my usual chat of choice, just because I don't have to sign into anything extra. Have you used it before? You could just use the gmail ID you email with.
