Agent Carter and hockey

Apparently those are the two things I'm fannish about right now. Huh.

I finished Agent Carter's first season a week or so ago. Overall, I was utterly delighted by it; it's easily my favorite MCU offering. (Second would probably be CA:TWS.) With Peggy in particular it kept not doing exactly the thing I was afraid of it doing, and this pleased me quite a lot.

That said, I thought the finale was kind of a mess - the show definitely deserved better. :\ Too much Howard, not enough Peggy. And the Peggy vs Dottie showdown was a letdown and also just weird - "I used to want to be just like you"? What? Where did that come from? In general I found Dottie one of the weakest aspects of the show, which made me really sad, but perhaps there is hope for better development in S2 (FINGERS CROSSED FOR THERE BEING AN S2).

And yet, the finale did one thing soooo right: it moved Peggy and Angie into one of Howard's houses. I was so delighted, you guys. If that isn't a Boston marriage setup, IDK what is. Allll the Peggy/Angie, please.

As for hockey, wow what a game last night. I am kind of cracking up that we lost to the Avs and then beat two of the best teams in the west on back-to-back nights. The last third of that game last night was super tense as it became clear that the first goal was going to be the only goal.

I cannot say enough about Flower. People were saying that was his best game of the year so far, and I have to agree. He looked so good, so calm, such great position and rebound control. None of those LA shots looked even close to going in, despite the Pens' defensive breakdowns.

All that, and he shut out LA both games this season. I am so smug.

* I thought, and the beat writers thought, and then Sid thought the shot clock was shortchanging the Pens a little.

* A King hauled Geno down during play and then laid on him for a while. That seems... not legal.

* LA player Toffoli was very sad about his turnover that led to the goal.

And this after running all over the top of the Ducks the night before. Good work team.

There was a point at which I actually yelled, "I do not give one single fuck about Howard Stark and his guilt!" at the TV.

Enjoying Fleury increasingly - not just on ice, but he's so un-macho-athlete in interviews too. Refreshing.

Gloriously enjoying beating the Kings in general. Go Pens!

Fleury is wonderful. I'll be honest, I'm very pleased that he's doing so well this year, but I became a fan via interviews first. He's so relaxed, and there doesn't seem to be any ego there, or concerns with how he presents himself. He feels really genuine, I guess is what I'm trying to say.
