Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte: spreading wide my narrow hands, Jane Eyre/Bertha Rochester, 7k. Rochester dies, leaving Jane his fortune - and his wife to take care of. This is lovely slow burn (with subtle yet crackling heat) as Jane makes herself a new life utterly unlike any she'd imagined, with the last person she'd ever have imagined it with.
Twin Peaks: if she likes, i'll tell her lies, Donna Hayward/Maddy Ferguson, 2k. Donna looks at Maddy, and tries to be more like Laura. I love how fucked up this is, and how it shows Donna's deliberate re-invention of herself to be more like Laura, complete with sex and lies and self-destructive behavior.
Zone Blanche | Black Spot: home before dark, Leïla Barami/Laurène Weiss, 2k. After the end of S2, Leila checks in. A nice coda to some of the big events and reveals of the season, and I love the clear, longstanding trust of their relationship, how Laurene gives in when Leila pushes, where she'd just stonewall anyone else.
